Why partners/people have become so abusive to the extent of killing each other ?
Ofcourse it is a form of mental illness and the person is a sociopath.
People these days have lost the threshold and have grown to become increasingly verbally, emotionally, physically and sexually abusive towards the other.
Most of the times there have been found a history of child abuse in the form of emotional or physical form.
Nowadays abuse has become the new common trend to justify the accused feelings.
I would fail to speak on everyone's behalf but I'll put forth my understanding.
It is very important to recognise the early signs of violence in the other person.
Violence doesn't emerge suddenly but it escalates gradually over the time.
Small acts of boundary violation such as gaslighting, threatening, black mailing, breaking things etc shouldn't go unnoticed.
1.They would also emotionally isolate you, so it is important to recognise if you notice any signs of pent up anger.
2. They isolate you from your family members. They don't like you spending time with your friends or relatives.
3. The romance quickly changes into a serious or complicated relationship
4. There is a strong desire to control the other person for emotional, financial and sexual needs.
5. If any mistake has been observed, then there are chances of taking revenge by abuse or homicide in extreme cases.
6. Please do not fail to observe if there are any signs of planning by the perpetrator to buy sharp objects, or seek opportunities to get the victim alone.
7. There are no direct abuse sometimes but a manipulation of emotions. For example, they jump into quick emotions of love and hate in a very short span of time. They understand your needs, and give you what you want in a relationship to keep you hooked.
8. Recognise if the relationship is only about them and not you. They will make you feel guilty for the things which were not in your hands either
Hence, it is a roller coaster ride guys! If you are trapped emotionally, it is a trauma bonding. So, if your relationship feels abusive, please LEAVE !
